Wow...It had been so long since our last post. We are sorry...well I am. I always forget to post. Especially since Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas. We always enjoy sharing our time with our loved ones and to celebrate the birth of our Savior. Well since the new year not that much has happened. Just another year. Leisha and Jon both got accepted to accepted to Southern Polytechnic University. It is in Marietta, Georgia, only about an hour and half (if that) away from us in Cartersville. (: We are all excited to have them closer to home; it will certainly save them money since they come to see us about every 2 weeks. Aaron just finished a season with a recreational basketball team. Even though they didnt have a winning season he enjoyed playing on the team. He will be entering high school this next August. Time just flies by so quickly. I remember when he was in elementary school! He is very excited about this new change. Beth, (me!) got accepted to Brigham Young University-Idaho. And yes, I have very excited!!!! I am ready to start that new phase in my life. So as soon as I can I will be heading out there and starting a new journey in life. (: Also, a couple of months ago I was called to be a Relief Society teacher! I know CRAZY! I do enjoy that calling, I have learned so much! Dave, dad, is still the first counselor in the bishopric and enjoying every minute of it. Renee, mom, is still working for Focus Counseling taking foster kids to and fro. We are all doing very well, just enjoying life.

Thanksgiving in Idaho

Last month we (as in the family including Mom, Dad, Leisha, me, and Aaron) traveled to Utah and Idaho. We stopped in Salt Lake because my uncle (Dad's brother), Peter Jensen, got sealed and married in the Salt Lake City Temple. We stayed in Salt Lake for just a day before we traveled up to Idaho to visit Cara, Tad and the family. We spent the day strolling around the city and taking a tour of the Conference Center. It was absolutely beautiful! We are so glad we could make that happen. Later that night we attended the wedding reception which was on the 9th floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. That was a wonderful experience; we got to meet up with our extended family which was really nice. We stayed with Dad's sister, Polly and her family. We enjoyed that and their hospitality. The next morning we headed out to Idaho. We did drive through a blizzard which was new for a lot of us in the car. By the time we reached Cara and Tad's apartment there was probably about 4-5 inches of snow. Now...we are from Texas, and Georgia...neither of those places have snowy winters, or snow at all. So this was a big change for us. We enjoyed spending time with Cara, Tad, Afton and the new addition, Baby Reesa. We love them so much. We didnt actually stay with them, Tad's Aunt and Uncle were so kind in letting us stay at their house which was a few blocks away. It was very convenient and we are so grateful for them. Thanksgiving was so much fun. Baby Reesa got to be there in time. We really enjoyed our time up there. We left Idaho on the 27th and stopped in Oklahoma to visit Mom's mom. We stayed there for a day and then traveled back to boring old Georgia. We finally got home at around midnight on the 29th. We are grateful for the time we could spend with our family. We were able to see so many temples on the way up. We were so grateful for that. Sledding at the BYU-Idaho campus!

I know, I know I've been slacking. I just forget about the blog and no one else does it except me. So hear are some wedding pictures from a few months ago:

This is everyone that went down to Florida for the wedding.

Ok...so lately we havent really been up to much. Just enjoyng the weather, its been beautiful lately. All the trees are changing colors and they are so pretty!!!

Recently Jon and Leisha have come up from Valdosta...actually they do it alot. We enjoy spending our time with them.

Other than that we arent doing anything too exciting. We will be going to Idaho as soon as Cara has Reesa and will be staying there for a few days. We are all so excited to see her and her family again.

Our Long Awaited Update

Well...after a few months I decided I should probably update the blog again. It seems to slip my mind quite often.
We all had a wonderful at Leisha's wedding and at the beach. The wedding went perfectly and we're glad to have Jon a part of our family now. Our beach house was very nice. We had plenty of room for everyone and more since we weren't really downstairs much. The beach was just a walk away and it was very convenient for us. We had Kyrie, Fabian and Katherine Zender come and visit us regularly and play in the ocean with us. We all had a wonderfuly time. Now Leisha and Jon are living in Valdosta and plan to attend Valdosta State this coming semester.
After we got back from vacation we had the reception which also went very nicely. It turned out beautifully. Also...Dave's sister, Lori, invited us to come and see her son, Bendigo, graduate from basic training in the Army in Kentucky. So Renee, Dave and I (Beth) all attended a wonderful ceremony for him. I think we all respect the troops a little bit more. He graduated as a Calvary Scout and is now in Colorado for additional training.
Our temple has been closed for rennovation for 18 months we are sad to say. So needless to say we have to travel a few hours to the temple either in Tennessee or Alabama. With this in mind a couple of our friends invited us to attend their marriage sealing at the Tennessee temple. So we drove about 3 hours and had a wonderful time celebrating another marriage for time and all eternity. What a wonderful blessing it is to have that available to us. We are so grateful for this gospel of Jesus Christ.
So all in all we've had a pretty eventful few months. It was all so wonderful and we're grateful for the time we had to share with family and friends.

Wedding Plans

It seems like almost every conversation we have these days is about the wedding! We spend most of the off time we have planning the reception and planning for the time we'll be spending in Florida. Of course we dont really hear Aaron stop talking about how many more days it will be until Cara and Afton will be here. We are all so excited for that! We've done so much planning already. We decided that we are driving to Orlando and staying in a hotel for the first night which is the 9th and then after the wedding on the 10th we will be staying in a beach house that we have rented out until the 17th. Leisha and Jon will come back and meet us in the beach house after their honeymoon. I think everyone is just counting down the days until we get to go. Although Leisha will be missed. It just seems so crazy that she's getting married. I've already thought about what it might be like when she's in Valdosta going to school and I dont know if I really like it. We dont really have any pictures right now but hopefully we will soon. We will keep planning of course and keep everyone updated as much as we can. So all is well with the Jensen family.

Well I must admit that I have been slacking on the blog. I don't have any pictures right now but hopefully will get some soon. Some news of the family is that Jon Quick finally proposed to Leisha!! YES everyone!! Leisha is ENGAGED!!! They set a date for June 10th...in the Orlando, Florida Temple. We are all very excited because this also means that we can go to the beach after the wedding!!!! YAY! I think we all need time away to the beach. :)

We celebrated Dave's birthday on the 31st of January. That was a fun experience, we are all grateful for what he does.

Beth's 18th birthday is coming up on the 29th of this month. She will be 18! Time just flies by so fast!!

So for right now this is our news...hopefully we will update soon. :)

Anberlin Concert!!

For Christmas I got tickets to go see the christian rock band Anberlin in concert in Nashville, Tennessee. Not only did I go but I got to share the experience with Leisha, mom and my friend Alison. The drive was about 3 hours there and very long...but we did see snow on the way up! When we finally got to Nashville we couldnt find the venue, Rocketown. We new it was a pretty small venue but we were struggling to actually find it. While turning right on a street mom says, "Wait isn't that the lead singer for Anberlin?!" And Alison and I looked and YES it was him!!! We probably would've jumped out of the car if we could; he was on his way into Rocketown. We found the venue and we decided that we should probably eat somewhere. Alison and I weren't very hungry and decided that we would just grab some McDonalds and then go to wait in line which had already been formed at the venue while Leisha and mom went to a fancier place. Me and Alison waited in line for about 2 hours when mom and Leisha joined us. About 30 minutes later they opened the doors, which definatly saved us because it was very cold outside. We then made our way in and got our little arm bands and proceeded to the room where the concert would be played. We actually got pretty much the front row. There were no seats...it was standing. So Alison and I stayed on the second row and Leisha and mom went to the balcony. They didnt really want to be in the crowd where you would get pushed around. Anberlin wasn't the only band that played...the bands The Becoming, Between The Trees and Madina Lake opened for Anberlin. Of those bands only Between The Trees were really good and of course the oh so amazing Anberlin were great! Anberlin came out and the crowd went wild! Alison and I got very squished but had a blast standing so close! We got so many pictures too! Well...I only got pictures of Anberlin but Alison took some of the other bands. We didn't actually get out until around 11:30 and Tennessee is an hour ahead of Georgia so it was really around 12:30 am our time! Of course then we had to drive 3 hours back! So we didn't get home until really late and then I had to wake up for seminary the next day! Oh ya I went to seminary. We all enjoyed the concert!

Christmas!!!

For Christmas Cara, Tad and Afton all came to visit. They came the Thursday before Christmas and stayed untile the early morning of New Years Eve. We had so much fun getting to know baby Afton and spending time with Cara and Tad. Tyler and Megann also came to spend Christmas with us. Sadly to say...some of us got sick during Christmas break, some more than others. Nonetheless, we endured it and are all feeling much better. We had a left over box and Cara came up with the brilliant idea to make baby Afton a sleigh that she could ride around in. She absolutely loved it!!! We took alot of pictures and loved spending time with each other to celebrate our Savior's birth.

We were very lonely on New Years Eve without Cara, Tad and Afton so we all just lounged around and watched the ball drop in New York along with the Georgia Peach drop. We wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Aaron's Birthday

So the other day we had Aaron's 13th birthday. He got some pretty cool stuff. Tyler and his girlfriend, Meghan came over for his birthday. They got him a paintball gun and all the gear that goes with it. He was pretty excited about that. Jon and Leisha got him a picture of a Texas jersey and football signed by a Texas player, Dale Willis and tickets to see the movie Madagascar Escape 2 Africa. Then my parent's got him tickets to go see an Atlanta Thrasher's hockey game and a pair of basketball shoes since he just recently made the middle school basketball team. Although he did inherit a pair of basketball shoes from one of his friends right after mom and dad bought him the other shoes. So he just took the ones mom and dad bought back to the store and got the money instead. He also got a Texas Longhorns hoodie. Anyway we all had alot of fun celebrating Aaron's birthday.

Crazy Bike Race

So last night I went and hung out with a few of my friends from church. Well our plans kind of messed up so we ended up going to walmart....the local hangout. :) Well....Nikki(my bff) and I decided to have a little kid bike race. So I sometimes get to watch Katherine (our neighbors daughter) and she loves to jump on the bed and sing songs that I play on the computer. I've been trying to get a video of her singing because it's just so darn cute! She's 2 1/2 and she knows mosst of the words to the songs Check Yes Juliet by We The Kings (thanks to me), All Star by Smashmouth (thanks to shrek), and Shake It by Metro Station (I dont know where she got this one). Stake Conference

This past Sunday we had the opportunity to attend Stake Conference. We were very lucky to have an apostle of the Lord come and speak to us. We heard from a lot of different people who did excellent but we were able to hear from Elder D. Todd Christofferson. It was so amazing to see an apostle standing before us and speaking directly to us. It was a wonderful experience.

We all sat as a family....except Leisha. She went a couple of rows up and sat with Jon and his family. And of course Elder Christofferson comes and shakes peoples hands. Well lucky Leisha and Jon got that luxury....YES...they shook the had of an apostle of the Lord!!! How amazing that would've been!! Later I went to the restroom and found Leisha in there. She looks at me and says, "I don't want to wash my hands." We all thought that was pretty funny. It was a wonderful experience and we are truly grateful for the prophet and his apostles who lead and guide us in these latter days.

Oct. 8th is Leisha's boyfriends (JON) birthday. He was turning the BIG 25!!! Unfortunately candles only come in boxes of 24. So we had to use a match for the 25th candle. :) A couple of days ago mom, Leisha and I went out and got him a present. Well...Leisha got him a present. She bought him a mini fridge. I know crazy...but that's what he wanted. Caitlin and Chris got him stuff from that show The Office. They got him magnets and stuff to put on his fridge. Leisha also got him some stuff to put in his fridge, along with tickets to an Atlanta Thrashers hockey game. As you can see he loved it. :) It's a pretty big fridge too...2.7 cubic feet! Leisha and mom made him a dinner; roast, potatoes, fruit and of course a birthday cake. :) Leisha made that whole cake by hand!! No box cake or anything.

We all had a great time. He can pull some pretty weird faces. :) We also had Kyrie, Fabian and Katherine Zender over (Caitlin's Sister is Kyrie).

I even tricked Katherine (she's 2 years old) to say Happy Birthday to Jon really loud. We all enjoy having Jon around...sometimes. Just kidding.

When Jon went home Leisha and I helped him with putting his new fridge in his truck. Well..I think he was debating on strapping it in with the seat belt. :)

Ok..so apparently we need pictures because our site is a little boring. :) so I'm going to try this out. These arent recent pictures though.

During the summer we visited the Ocoee River. This is where everyone likes to do water rafting. So here is a picture taken of course by the amazing Dave!! No we dont know these people!! :)

We thought these were pretty cool pictures. This is the Olympic Park run so you can stand on the side where the rocks are and watch all the people go by. There were a couple of boats that would come to this point in the river and go into the dip sideways and people would fall out. They had guides on the side watching with ropes handy just in case.

They even had kayakers doing this run. It was really amazing to see that. They are so talented. We love to water raft and things like that so we thought this would be a really fun day trip. :)

Our first blog

Ok...so this is our very first blog. So if anyone has any tips then feel free to help us out. I (Beth) will be doing the blogging because I have so much time on my hands. :)

So this past friday Dad had corporate night for Lockheed Martin at Six Flags over Ga!!!!(Only certain companies and their families were invited so the lines werent long.) We were very excited about it. The tickets were discouted and the parking was free! It was from 6 pm to 12 am. Me, Leisha, Aaron, Mom and Dad all went along with Leisha's boy Jon. We decided before hand to make a plan on how to do the least amount of walking and the most riding. So we started at the very back of the park. So our first ride of the night was....du du du du!!!.....the SUPERMAN!!!!! Aaron got a little chicken so he didnt ride with us the first time. It was amazing!!! Me, Leisha and Jon rode together and Mom and Dad rode together. Needless to say it was kinda short so we rode it again. Mom and Dad finally convinced Aaron to ride and he loved it of course! So by the time we had gone through the whole park we still had 3 hours to go!! So we went through the park all over again. We decided to do Thunder Mountain, which is a water ride. So me and Aaron conspicuously picked a seat where we thought wouldnt get wet. Well we got lucky and got completely soaked!! I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt so that wasnt very comfortable for the rest of the night. Towards the end of the night we wanted to ride the Batman again but it was closed so we went to the GOLIATH again. This is the biggest one in the park. Its almost a 90 degree fall on the first hill! So we did that one. It was me, dad, leisha, and jon. By this time mom was a little sick and aaron was too chicken for this ride(I dont blame him!! it was very intimidating). So, we loved it and decided if we ran we could get in one last ride before the park closed. Well this time we wanted to be the first car!! So we got the first car on the very last time they would run the ride!!! This ride you have a thing that pulls down in between your legs...so your sitting down. Well we get up to the first hill and was that a rush or what!!!!??? It was amazing!! And it feels like that ride goes on forever!! We had a great time. Before we rode the rides we made a deal that we would have our hands up on every single ride no matter what!! Well...in the end me and dad were the winners!!!!! YEAH!! :)

Needless to say we didnt get any pictures. :( We had a great time though. We didnt get home until almost 2 in the morning!!
